As a practice aiming to experiment with spatiality, Performative Drawing is an ongoing project through which Turkish group ‘Piknik’ uses drawing as a medium to play with boundaries of bodily and mental performances in various spaces. Visitors are invited to experience their spatial/visual narrative by drawing simultaneously on the ‘Piknik Salon’* and transforming the space through discussions created at round table talks; questioning perceptions of new timely and bodily experiences of our “houses/homes”; new everyday life scenarios of the spaces we live in; and the new definition of time in the 21st century, for which we are rewriting all the parameters. These conversations will all be visible on the surfaces of the space, not following strict linear storytelling rules, but rather of a free structured, hypertext-like reading.
