The title of this project alludes to the Bergsonian concept of durée, referring to an inner experience disconnected from external notions of time and its demands, and presents an intimate voyage into the Internal Durée of different characters in the artist’s life. The sensation is familiar to us from moments of mental wandering, daydreaming, and boredom, generating a broad spectrum of reactions ranging from fear, longing, guilt, and the need to escape, to containment and devotion. Listening to the stories presented, one ponders habits and fixations, fears, and moments of discovery, from a contemporary Western perspective. The space calls for reflection, inviting visitors to be carried by the stories, break away from the tumult of events, surrender to the internal durée, stare into the void, listen to the narrating voices, and to oneself.
